Japanese design firm, Nendo, designed this multi-functional studio home.
Space in Japan comes at a premium. In fact, the value of just the land in Tokyo can sometimes surpass 70% of a home’s total value!
This house transforms depending on what you’re doing inside. Cooking? Time for the kitchen to come out. Getting sleepy? Pull the bed out of the wall. Want to take a shower? Out comes the bathroom.
One giant wall contains each modular unit, and a simple push and pull converts the use of the main room. What a great way to have a full-size, bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom when you only have a single room available. Space-sharing at its finest!
