Jay Pennington is better known as Rusty Lazer, a New Orleans-based DJ and musician.
He’s also founder of the New Orleans Airlift, a group dedicated to connecting communities through public art.
Along with his girlfriend, Jami Girouard, he renovated a 1976 Airstream that has no equal.
While newer Airstreams move toward the slick and contemporary, Rusty and Jami have created a style all their own.
Have a look.
Rusty said that the renovation took “forever”.

The trailer dates from 1976, and it looks like most of the original furniture and hardware remains.
There’s a neat honeycomb mirror next to the sofa.
Cool pink tub – I wonder if that is original though?
Rusty’s girlfriend is an artist. You can see her website here.
Stunning quilt and unusual teepee light in the bedroom.
One last shot of the llama – err the trailer.
The custom cabinet drawers remind me of old-time navy signal flags. You can see more of Rusty Lazer’s work at his website or check out his Tumblr page.
